Conscience (Moon) vs Conscious (Mercury)

Mercury is often associated with communication, intellect, and the way we think and express ourselves. It governs our mental processes, decision-making, and how we interact with the world around us.

The Moon, on the other hand, represents our emotions, instincts, and subconscious mind. It reflects our inner world, nurturing qualities, and how we respond to our feelings and the feelings of others.

When comparing these celestial bodies to the concepts of consciousness and conscience:

Conscious

The word "conscious" also has an interesting etymological history that traces back to Latin and Old French. Here’s the breakdown:

1.Latin Origin: The word comes from the Latin term "conscius," which means "aware" or "knowing." This Latin word is formed from:
- "con-": a prefix meaning "with" or "together."
- "scire": a verb meaning "to know."

2.Old French Influence: The term passed into Old French as "conscient," which carried the meaning of being aware or having knowledge.

3.Middle English: The word then entered Middle English as "conscious," retaining its meaning related to awareness and knowledge of one’s own existence and surroundings.

In summary, the etymology of "conscious" reflects its fundamental meaning of being aware or having knowledge, particularly in relation to one’s own thoughts, feelings, and environment.

Is essentially expressed by but is not limited to Mercury. Conscious is an adjective for the record which really indicates a status. That status includes awareness and responsiveness. Awareness and responsiveness is the basis of the mind and status of man. This is because man is born at the gate of man which is Cancer/4th House through the womb of the Mother. In that he is but a centaur. It is not until he expands his awareness by the "Mothers tongue and the Fathers works" that he gains a status of consciousness that makes him "responsive to his environment as "Duty, Responsibility and Service through his knowledge, wisdom and understanding from first the Mother and then the Father at the 10th House/Capricorn. The 10th house and Capricorn is called the Gate of Gods. This is where the centaur becomes a God through his or her father. The father is the one who instills the Law of Saturn and Jupiter which is higher learning and Discipline(s). The Fathers attributes is what clothes the man or woman in character which is capacity and fitness to fulfill duties and responsibilities at the 10th house.  Mercury embodies our active thoughts, rationality, and the way we engage with our environment. This begins with our 3rd house with our siblings in that we exercise and practice communication and judgement though the catalytic reality of the 3rd house/gemini that our siblings and community peers test and challenge our mind and perceptions with. This seeds how we imply, infer and our diction or vernacular. Just as Mercury influences our communication and thinking patterns, consciousness involves our awareness and understanding of the world. It should be noted that Mercury rules the 3rd house of siblings, peers and communication styles/mental attributes. This is Gemini (3rd House). Mercury also rules the 6th house of daily duties and responsibilities which is the house of Virgo. This is the house of refinement. The 6th house is the house that forms the character of the Fathers teachings and influence. This is why Virgo manifests the #9 Divine Masculine Hermit Card process of rebirth. That rebirth is from the gate of man as a centaur and the 4th house and cancer from the womb of the woman ascending into the 10th house Capricorn which is the gate of Gods via character development.

Conscience

The word "conscience" has an interesting etymological background that traces back to Latin and Old French. Here’s the breakdown:

1.Latin Origin: The word comes from the Latin term "conscientia," which means "knowledge within oneself." This is derived from the verb "conscire," meaning "to be aware of" or "to know."

2.Components: The Latin "conscire" is a combination of:
- "con-": a prefix meaning "with" or "together."
- "scire": a verb meaning "to know."

3.Old French Influence: The term passed into Old French as "conscience," which retained the meaning related to self-awareness and moral understanding.

4.Middle English: The word then entered Middle English as "conscience," maintaining its connection to moral awareness and the inner sense of right and wrong.

Thus, the etymology of "conscience" reflects its core meaning of an inner knowledge or awareness, particularly regarding moral and ethical considerations.

Conscience Is essentially expressed by but is not limited to (The) Moon. Note the use of definite article (THE)... This is because both Moon and Earth are not the names of these beings but the location of these beings. 93 million miles from the Sun is position of Earth which was not always the globe we are on. This position changes and has changed starting with Saturn which is the body that broke the time continuum from heaven separating Eternity from Infinity. Moon is a position of an orbiting satellite to a larger body. This is why in actuality Conscience is a NOUN not an adjective. It relates to our moral compass, feelings, and emotional responses. This is the Satellite of our Matriarchal wisdom that connects to the gut. The Moon's influence can be seen in how our emotions guide our sense of right and wrong, similar to how our conscience helps us navigate ethical dilemmas. It important to note this difference when we consider that both the Moon and Mercury are often referred to interchangeably as "the mind". These details are critical to put our mind in proper context when we are aligning with meaning. The Natal Astrological House and Zodiac sign as well as other aspects and planets will have a unique determination in how this gets expressed and what your specific thresholds of Conscience is like when it comes to your judgement of good and bad, right or wrong. Note also that whenever we consider the Moon we are also considering the very nature of WOMAN. Her nature is a likeness of (a) Conscience. This is why females are very sensitive to the image, impression or signs of harm, security, moral thresholds, justice and cultural norms when she is in "her right mind and spirit". She is first to say things such as "that's not nice" or "that's not fair" etc. The Moon is the natural state of mind of woman just as Mercury is the natural state of mind for man. We should never limit these differences to gender assignments but we do need to understand who the archetypes are. Knowing the archetypal value of these impulses and forces helps us to have a point of reference to understand ourselves and align more accurately with the nature and expressions that are most authentic to our aims and destiny as man and woman.

Let's be observant and cognizant to the fact that Mercury revolves around the Sun. The Mind revolves around the Heart and Identity as well as the Ego. Mercury is reading the expressions of the heart in order to "respond" according to available data and awareness through the Identity.

The Moon revolves around the Earth in order to act as a lantern in the Suns absence. When the identity, clarity of the hearts will or a clear read of the hearts expression is not readable or available through mercury we have the borrowed light of the Sun (heart) in "hindsight intuition" to judge consistent with the moral compass and thresholds of "personal/earth" security. The Moon is in fluid motion because it is in constant rapid speed reading every angle of the earth and every constellation of the heavens as well as every planet. It is "in tune" with its entire orbital domain constantly "reading as an Oracle". Again... this is a woman. This is her nature and image and default characteristic in every way of her being in essence.

In summary, Mercury represents the conscious mind—our thoughts and communication—while the Moon symbolizes the conscience—our emotional and moral awareness. Together, they create a balance between intellect and emotion, shaping our overall experience and decision-making in life.
